The Enhancement Themes are a programme of activity involving the whole higher education sector in Scotland. Staff and students collaborate on one or more topics to improve strategy, policy and practice.

Thank you for your comment. We understand how important it is to use accurate terminology. We are still learning what that means in practice, and we are committed to listening to the diverse learning communities that this Theme is intended to support. We are currently working in partnership with AdvanceHE on a sector-wide project to support the development of anti-racist curricula, and the consideration of language is a key focus of that work. The project is led by people with lived experience, and we anticipate that its findings will support us in our future work
"the BAME community" isn't a thing. We are all separate communities, with separate identities and people keep pushing this acronym. So please don't use that term, thanks.
